Magnus has a guest, the High Warlock of Venice Nico di Angelo. The two have been friends for so long, so after everything that happened with Ragnor and Camille, Nico wanted to visit and see how Magnus is holding up. Nico is mainly very fascinated by Magnus' Shadowhunter and by how happy Alec makes Magnus. Granted, he's mildly confused that the pretty Shadowhunter Magnus is living with is a different one, but oh well.
