“Well, don’t we?”
Maybe they did. They’d both had workplace romances turn sour. He certainly didn’t want that to happen to them. But he also didn’t want to wait another seven years to act on the love he felt for her.
“Scully, I enjoyed last night. I’d like to do it again. Besides, you know I’m not good with rules.”

What if it’s all true? What if there really is only one right choice? Have Mulder and I already come to the end of our journey or do we have more yet to travel? The complexity of it all swims in my head until I shake it, every decision I’ve ever made splashing soundlessly against the walls.
Choices. Decisions. Fate. Those are the things that brought me here tonight. I realize I’ve made my choice—I choose Mulder. I think I chose him long ago, but my journey these last few days has confirmed it. And the feel of his body against my own, his breath whispering through my hair, the lingering warmth from his lips—all these lead me to believe Mulder has chosen me as well.
