Glisten had been... off recently. His solo runs became shorter, his skill checks were no longer perfect, and his responses were hesitant. Other toons hadn't wanted to ask what was wrong, to check on him. They knew the answer "Nothing's wrong. I'm perfect, as always!" They didn't want to deal with it. He was getting sloppy, and it worried Goob. He knew what it meant to be a good friend. It meant to be there. So Goob showed up. He didn't ask questions. He was just there. For private times or runs, watching TV or venturing 30 floors down.
This is a slow-burn story about feelings. Hand holding and giggling to angst that won't be for the faint of heart. I love writing sad things but they don't always hit for me without the prologue, background, and built rapport. So read along with me, enjoy the joy, ready yourself for the heartbreak, and don't venture too far down.
