本文以较为详细的视角阐述故事，而非原作史书式的模式，因此涉及一些原创细节，如果原创过于离谱请指出。此外也会有一些血腥和性的描写，个人认为并非对托尔金神话的亵渎，而是将历史更真实地展现，也略微增加可读性，若超出接受范围则请酌情阅读。
文中使用的人名、地名等皆为汉化版本，参考魔戒中文维基的标准译名。
提前列举一些对原设定可能的改动：
①本小说中有些原创角色可能是分离自同人角色，因此该原创角色名字为源同人角色的某个别名。如黑猫泰维多在《贝伦与露西恩》的早期版本中为索隆的原设定，但本小说中泰维多是与索隆相伴的女性迈雅，可以幻化为黑猫的模样。不详细介绍以免涉及剧透。还有一些原创角色可能和同人角色同名但两者并没有关系。
②托尔金的原设定中有一些年龄相差很大的CP，比如哈拉丁家族的韩迪尔与贝奥家族的贝尔迪丝（虽然该CP不算是主要人物）。两人相差了整整30岁这显然会很违和，因此在本小说中出现这种情况时会对某一角色的生年进行改动使两人年纪接近。 -
