“We all spent so much time oblivious to everything that happened here. The good and bad stuff, and I’m glad I have it back, that I hopefully get to leave and remember all the good parts. Remember what it meant to me back then," Eddie paused and rapped his fingers on the black aluminum.
"But?" Richie pushed.
"There’s stuff I wish I didn’t just have to remember. Stuff I wish I could have again, just for a little bit,” Eddie said. The breeze had stopped at some point, and the air felt heavy around them, quiet. Like maybe time had stopped to give them this conversation. Like they were fifteen again, alone in the clubhouse after everyone else had gone, and everything suddenly felt clunky and loud and significant. So they’d whisper and try not to look each other in the eyes, and Richie might suddenly feel brave and brush their legs together in the hammock or stare at Eddie a bit too long, because nothing seemed to escape their time alone. Richie attempted to cling to that bravery.

“Stan?” Eddie asked, and his throat felt scratchy like he hadn't spoken in a long time.
And he doesn't know how he could tell. But it was. It was Stanley Uris. Tight brown curls, and a soft sweater, and that same pinched frown. It was Stanley.
Eddie felt fucking elated for a second, smiling, “Stanley? Shit, I’m so-”
And then, something settled under his skin -heavy like lead.
“You're…” Eddie breathed out, unable to finish his sentence. Because if he did, it would be real. He would be-
“Dead,” Stanley finished, “-Eddie, you're… Did it not work? Is It-”
“No, no, they-” Eddie let out a breath, “-they did it. I know they did. They were doing it when I…”
Stanley just seemed to relax a second, but then something settled onto him. And something shot through Eddie then. That's Stan… Stan's… I'm-
“Fuck this,” Eddie growled out, eyes darting along the landscape, “-no, fuck this. I'm not dead. No-”
“Eddie,” Stanley placed his hands on his shoulders, lips pressed into a heavy frown, “-you're dead.”
Or Eddie Kaspbrak dies, and decides to fight (the turtle) god about it.

Eddie's dead.
Richie's eyes eventually closed. Darkness taking over his vision, as he laid his head against the stiff pillow. He knew it'd hurt in the morning, or it should. Richie didn't feel shit anymore. He didn’t think he ever would again.
Even still, they shut.
And he dreamt of a turtle, something about him recognized it. Even though he'd never seen it before.
When he started coming to, his head did really fucking hurt, like a sharp pain. Not the dull ache it should have been. What the fuck was in these pillows?
"Richie-"
Richie's eyes snapped open, and he wasn't in the Townhouse anymore, not on the shitty bed, not fucking hungover like he should be. And he... And he-
"Eddie?"
Or Richie Tozier gets stuck in a timeloop.

"You motherfucker," Eddie chastised and he was becoming immensely clearer.
Richie was frozen in place, trying to think of anything. Any way to fucking get away from the Kaspbrak wrath, and fuck, he didn't even think about the rejection part-
"Eds?" He questioned, innocently.
"You can't just tell someone you've been in love with them since you were fucking eight years old, and-" Eddie continued, ranging closer (Richie could see that he was pointing a finger at him), "-and fucking run away."
"Seven," Richie instinctively corrected, and Eddie stopped on his path, he could see his fuzzy features change (into what? He had no fucking clue), "-we met when I was seven."
He could see his mouth shift, he couldn't really identify what, before he spoke, "You didn't fucking love me as soon as you met me, jackass-"
"Ya ever heard of love at first sight, Eds?" Richie cracked back, but it was too genuine to be funny.

When they start landing, they look at each other without saying a word. Richie’s throat closes up and he feels his heartbeat pick up. It’s not anxiety about the landing, no. He’s used to planes and he almost doesn’t give a shit about turbulence anymore… But his memories seem to be stronger, fresher than they’ve ever been, and Richie struggles to make sense of it. He knows it has to be this place, this fucked up place where they grew up… But seeing it come to life is scarier than he thought it would be.
He tries to keep his face neutral so as not to alarm Stan, but, like he’s reading his mind, Stan asks, “You feel it too, right ?”
He nods and his grip on Stan’s hand tightens. The plane lands.
Guess they’re back home.
