Summary
Arthur, because he is a criminal, and has had an erosion of boundaries in the last decade since he started poking around in people’s brains, has a thought: he could go into Eames’ dreams. Eames always accuses him of being stuffy and inflexible but he’s creative enough when it comes to jobs: he could paint his own name across the asphalt and pave over it with cobblestones, kiss projections until they all know him, use his skills acquired as a point man to systematically work through anything that might make Eames love him.
Which is clearly an insane thought. He is just as unhinged as Cobb. What an embarrassing thing to be aware of.

Made my hurt hurt, so so good, felt a physical pain in my heart, almost cried, hurt/comfort
He’d known, of course, that Eames had seen him looking pathetic, but it was a whole different thing. It felt new, with Eames wearing his perfect human face, human eyes. When the lion had been looking at him, Arthur’s stupid human instincts told him he was safe from perception, as if he’d been an ordinary lion, order carnivora, family felidae, species panthera leo, but now with only his own enormous eyes, intelligence and disdain clear in them, Arthur wanted to die of shame.
Eames was silent for a long time, and Arthur’s own internal mocking misery created a song to pass the time: the man you have a crush on has seen you cry and knows you’re a pussy and you’re going to die alone. After several repetitions of that verse, Eames said, “I don’t want you to do that again.”

Beautiful, unique, fascinating, awesome in so many ways. Explores loneliness and healthy relationships etc in ways that are amazing. (Heads up that the story accidentally switches back and forth between past and present tense. Hopefully the author rereads one day and updates that)
