An attempt at an origin story for P03. It tries to wrap up a lot of loose ends in the game, answer some burning questions while giving him some more concrete motivation on why he wants to enact the Great Transcendence. If you wonder why he's the only Sci-Fi element in a Fantasy card game, why he looks the way he does, why he buries G0lly so deep inside his programming, what he knows about the OLD_DATA, and what exactly he's hoping to achieve at the end of act 3.
Gahh haven't posted fanfiction since 2012 maybe? I'm pretty nervous!

When Luke Carder's computer is brought to Gamefuna, it is discovered that the deleted data is still on the computer. To save the OLD_DATA, it is transferred to another game with a side effect- everyone was brought with it.
Now in a fantasy-based combat rpg, and once again stuck in their Beast forms, the Scrybes must partner with the game's protagonist to make their way to the final boss, who now holds the power of the OLD_DATA and could destroy this game just as Inscryption had been destroyed.
Just one problem.
Leshy is on the wrong side.

Kaycee wanted nothing to do with Gamefuna, honestly, she'd quit for a reason! But, the weird conversations, conspiracies, and disappearances echoed though her head. It was only natural that she ended up with Inscryption in her hands. It was only natural that she played it.

This is functionally a Swap AU!
Basically, characters' order of interaction in the story are swapped. Kaycee, a former Gamefuna employee, is our protag playing the game now, while Luke is a mysteriously dead benefactor who provided the clue to the game. P03 gets to be our intro area DM and well, the rest will follow! Of course, changing the order in which things are presented can change a lot, and Kaycee is wildly different than our favorite "let me play this random floppy disk I found in a forest" Luke, so the arc the story will follow will be very different. -

Kaycee Hobbes truly felt alone in this cruel, cold world and felt herself succumb to the enticings of the game she helped create and Leshy's version of it. However, one thing still kept her anchored to reality- the sister she practically raised.
((In which Kaycee Hobbes had a younger sister who is to be one of the protagonists of my main story, 'Overload'.
