jason has seen photos of young bruce. he used to study the ones left in the halls of wayne manor, trying to fill in the gaps between the smiling boy in the picture frame and the man in the cave downstairs. none of those photos could have prepared him for the genuine article, or how much he feels like he’s seeing his own reflection. furious, haunted eyes ringed by black circles; greasy, unkempt black hair; clusters of acne from wearing a mask for days at a time–this might be the most human jason has ever seen him look.

Okay. Alphonse is alive. Outside of any of the rest of it, that’s a good thing. It complicates things, to be sure; she knows, for certain, that he’s alive now, which makes her cover story flimsier than before, especially if he runs into Roxas.
But there’s a voice in the back of her head— for some reason, it sounds like Rindo, and that’s someone she hasn’t thought about in months— and it’s just whispering you didn’t kill him, he isn’t dead, over and over again.
