In a city being ravaged by not one, but two serial killers, Javi is just another guy. He wakes up, eats his Wheaties, dotes on his cats, goes to work, blushes furiously when his two insanely hot regulars chat him up- Okay, maybe that part is just him. But seriously, look at them. They're way out of his league.
But then he's being taken out on dates, and then they're with him all the time, and then he suddenly feels safer than he's felt in years.
He doesn't understand why the police suddenly become so interested in his relationship, and he really doesn't understand why the FBI is getting involved. Sure, his partners are protective, intense even, but they would never hurt a fly. Well, maybe they would. But one thing he knows for sure?

Lily was just reaching the climax of her tale when Tyler absentmindedly threaded his hand up into Kate’s hair. Kate stiffened slightly, then instantly melted into his touch. Tyler didn’t seem to notice. He spoke up with a tale of his own, one from his bullriding days, his fingers still carding through Kate’s hair.
Kate tried to focus on Tyler’s words, but she was completely distracted by the feeling of his hand on the back of her head. He’d never done this before. His fingers massaged her scalp gently, and she all but collapsed in her chair. Gosh she loved having someone play with her hair.
