He can’t help the bitterness in his voice, remembering earlier, an hour ago maybe, when Seth had been making his big speech. The words he’d had for Raf had sounded personal, normal as they were, like the rest of them were intruding on something that wasn’t for them, and whatever it was that makes him Raf’s, and hopefully Raf his too, had twisted uncomfortably in Kirin’s chest as he listened.
“It is nothing,” Raf insists quietly, fidgeting before sighing loudly. “You know it is,” he adds, like it’s a fact.

Kirin’s breath hitches. “Should I?” Raf nods. “And why’s that?” His voice breaks halfway through but Raf is kind enough not to mention it.
“Because you want to. And because I want you to,” Raf explains, and it’s only then that Kirin notices Raf’s finger dipping just beneath the waistband of his briefs, a tether keeping them together that makes Kirin feel just a little bit insane.
Or, Raf doesn’t think rain at night can be fun and Kirin is determined to change his mind.

“I saw it,” Raf says one night, when it’s dark outside and everyone has retreated to their respective rooms.
“Hmm?” Kirin hums lazily, blinking his eyes open to turn his head and gaze at Raf from over the top of the table. His face is barely visible in the dark, lit only by the tiny corridor lights that seep into the room through the doorway, but Raf can see enough to recognise the vague confusion on his sharp features.
“Your tattoo,” Raf clarifies after a beat of silence. Kirin huffs something like a laugh and shifts on the couch, arm spreading out and down until his fingertips graze the concrete floor.
“That’s right,” Kirin says, clicking his tongue in thought. “You were watching me wash off.”

“What are we doing?” Raf asks, barely audible against Kirin’s mouth, his fingers tightening in Kirin’s hair and pulling a quiet noise from the back of his throat.
“Pretty sure it’s called kissing,” Kirin responds, thumb tugging at the corner of Raf’s mouth before sliding up his jaw, cradling him like he’s something precious. Raf sighs against him, and Kirin is expecting it when he pushes Kirin back to frown up at him.

“Come in,” he croaks. He isn’t even sure if he was loud enough.
He hears a deep sigh. For once, it is not his own.
He knows that sound.
The door swings open slowly, and a tall figure steps in quickly. Kirin quickly shuts the door as quietly as possible, before slipping something into his pocket and turning his back to the door, deep, dark eyes landing on Ivan’s when he speaks.
