One day, Matteo had come into his room, where David was sitting on the bed and drawing, and he had said, looking slightly muddled and holding both of their toothbrushes, “I just realized that my whole bathroom cupboard is filled with your things. Want to save even more space and move in together?”
So here he is, taking his old drawings from the walls and trying to remember where the fuck he put that one old pair of shoes that he never wears but actually likes very much.
“I can’t believe this is over.” Laura says, next to him on the floor.

David peeked over the side of the boxes, wondering if the voice was directed at him. He saw a boy with messy dirty blond hair and eyes that were the same color as the hoodie he wore.
“Oh, no, it’s okay. Thank you, though!”
“I really don’t mind.” The boy worriedly turned his head towards the staircase and then back at him.
After taking just a couple of more steps, David was already ready to give in to the tempting offer. Not only because of the physical struggle, but he really didn't want to trip and fall in front of his new neighbor and be perpetually embarrassed to run into him in the future.
Before waiting for him to speak up, the boy took one of the boxes from his arms and it was an incredible relief.
“Thanks,” David smiled.
“Which floor?”
“Second.”
He jerked his head in the direction of the stairs and smiled back. “Lead the way.”

When Matteo gets home there’s a package in their mailbox. He isn’t expecting anything. There have been no late-night online shopping sprees, and there aren’t any people in his life who live far enough away that they’d have to send him things by mail.
The envelope isn’t all that strange, though. Matteo does share his flat with three other people, it could be any of their packages. That is until Matteo finds the note from their mailman. The note's scribbled on one of those cards the post uses to communicate that you weren’t home when they were trying to deliver something, or whatever.
The note reads:
Hi! I accidentally put the wrong package in your mailbox! My sincere apologies. Could you please put it in the right mailbox? Thank you so much.
