He'd known it would be beautiful with David, just like everything with him was. He'd known it would be good, that he wanted to be with David in that way. He'd been nervous of course but David hadn't made that seem like a bad thing, had just reassured him and that was why it was good, that was why it had been perfect. David took away the pressure and allowed them to just fall into it, just love each other.

I am a woman in MOURNING. I wish this fic could just continue forever and ever it was SO GOOD. Usually I would write a detailed paragraph on why this fic is one of my recs, but I feel that there is too much to put into words. The magical aspects were great, the enemies to lovers was the absolute PERFECT amount, the kiss scene was 🤌🤌, the angst was angsting, the LORE was LOREING (and im pretty sure that’s not a word), and all the other little aspects put into this story was just PERFECT. I’m not much of a fantasy/magic person, but this had me SAT. In another universe I get a davenzi type of love. Easily one of my favorite druck fics of all time. Stop reading this paragraph, and read this fic instead.

This realisation feels like it hits Matteo out of nowhere but it doesn't, not really. This is everything just clicking into place. This is just understanding settling over him. Matteo is ok. Matteo just needs to figure it all out. He's done it many times now but he's not alone this time.

He just observed the soft-spoken boy at the backmost row at Laura’s show in Berlin, who was a sea of calm as he directed various backstage sound technicians and mixers through his headset, all the while manning a rig himself, making sure the audio side of things of the gig worked without a hitch.
The boy with a mop of messy blond hair with a headphone pressed over it and piercing blue stormy-sea eyes so focused on his surroundings and signaling for the technicians to react to whatever is happening on stage.
The blond hair and the blue eyes that he wants to lose himself in. He shakes his head and tries to get that face out of his head.
He collects himself quickly though, coughs, and say “Thank you, Matteo. Have a nice day”

Summary
Matteo is struggling with his mental health, and although he goes to therapy and takes his meds daily, he still needs something to make his body less lethargic. At his therapist's suggestion he tries to find a physical activity, and he finds himself at the entrance to a communal swimming pool, not sure what to do.
David has always loved swimming, but he hasn't gone into the water since long before he started to transition. Still, he takes a part time job as a life guard at a swimming facility not far from his and Laura's flat, needing the income to pay the rent. When a boy he's never seen before comes by his work, looking as out of place as David too often feels, he can't help but reach out.
Contains: Struggles with mental health, description of dysphoria, and two gay dorks falling in love.

After seeing David play the guitar at a concert he attended with Sara, Matteo thinks he's seen the most beautiful man in the world. But he doesn't expect much to come out of the realization, right up until he walks into Amira’s kitchen a month later to get them a biology study snack and sees David leaning against the counter as he scrolls through something on his phone.
Matteo freezes. David glances up briefly and seems to blink in surprise as well. They’re both sort of staring, and Matteo doesn’t know why David is staring but what he really wants to know is what a famous person is doing in his classmate’s kitchen and also what it’s like to kiss him, but the second question is less relevant considering the major importance of the first one.
“Na,” David finally greets.
“Na,” Matteo stumbles out in response, and then backs out of the room and flees.

It took all of my willpower to not click the kudos button too early because I know I would hate myself for it when I finally finished this fic. This was super cute and had all the feels. Also, NO OUTING!!!!! HE GOT TO COME OUT ON HIS OWN TERMS!!!! WE WIN!!!!!! any fic that strays from the outing trope has my heart (not that it’s bad and I’m aware that it’s canon, but it always warms my heart when people decide to change that part).
