It seemed like she was discovering new emotions and sensations every day. Right now, she was so tired it felt like a sharp spike was being driven through her core. It was a strange sensation and she wasn’t entirely sure how being tired could make her chest tight and heart race, but she could ask Roland later. -

In the tumult of the deeply inconvenient relocation to the Outskirts, several loose ends from the Library's final receptions that should've bothered Angela—namely, the guests not instantly reappearing in their proper places within the City—were forgotten in favor of more immediate, practical concerns, such as "did Zena and Baral kill all the assistant librarians or were we lucky" and "how to feed fifty flesh and blood human beings without the limitless convenience of the Light."
Now, with three of said loose threads found skulking in her library and hundreds more doubtlessly waiting in the wings to make her thankful for her mechanical body for once as it stalwartly refuses to give her a headache, Angela wishes that she had given more serious thought to cutting them off before their dangling could irritate her.
The Library is once again open to receive guests, albeit in a considerably different fashion than before and much to the annoyance of all the librarians who have recently repossessed their mortal coils.
