The first time Lu Guang had met Cheng Xiaoshi, he was happy.
Lu Guang didn’t know a basketball game could change the course of his life like it did. “Why do you take it so seriously?” He has asked while he cocked his head at him. He was never one for sports. “It’s just a game.”

Summary
Children who develop magical abilities do so at the age of 15. They are enrolled into the academy and stay there until their magical abilities have developed completely after the age of 25 and afterwards work for the magic industry with jobs such as fighting crime when needed, becoming a professor at the magic academy (or both), etc.
Barely any students leave earlier than 25 because no one is strong enough yet but there still have been a few in the years. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are one of the strongest there and are two of the very few who get double abilities. There are also premature students who developed their powers earlier than the age of 15 and enrolled into the academy already such as Cheng Xiaoshi.
This is the start of their story.

Cheng Xiaoshi barrels past the open door like a typhoon made of toothy grins and messy jet-black hair, clad in a jacket and training trousers instead of his usual pyjamas. With each centimeter cut as he approaches Lu Guang, it's only natural that life follows the curve of his lips as they shape Lu Guang's name, the molten gold that simmers hidden within those pupils of hushed night, the bobs of his head that listens to an inaudible melody only Cheng Xiaoshi is privy to.
And so Lu Guang follows it too, looking over his shoulder from where he's seated in front of the desk. "What?"
"Let's watch the fireworks together as we wait for the countdown!"
Fireworks explode into a treasure of colours, but Lu Guang already finds his own in everything that is Cheng Xiaoshi.
