Raised on the stories of the bayous of Louisiana and Mississippi, Will Graham left behind superstition a long, long time ago. When a string of violently awful and terrible dreams begin, foretelling the malevolent deaths of children and adults like, Will is at a loss. Will clings to Hannibal after a case unsettles him, the "good" doctor sees this as the perfect opportunity to tip Will's balance upside down and possess him, only now it is more than a desire to eat him; he wants to devour him. Poor Will has been harboring sexual feelings towards his therapist and now friend and when Hannibal ends up in his house after a supposed desperate plea while Will was dreaming the case is forgotten as Hannibal plots to claim him.

In a sense, Will Graham had known. He had always known that his cool, calculated psychiatrist was the haunter of his dreams, bringer of his downfall; the Chesapeake Ripper.
What he didn't expect was to fall head over heels in love with the man, Hannibal Lecter, and as impule and fear brings him to the cannibal's doorstep, his unexpected discovery doesn't fall on deft ears.
It seems Will isn't the only one confused.
