"Thanks for coming," Mat said, entering the coordinates of his house.
"Someone has to look after you," Rand said with a faint smile. -

He did not want to come, had resisted Elayne’s accusing looks, requests from Perrin, and Mat’s jokes. He and Moiraine had not spoken since she had returned, the chasm between them so deep that he doubted they could ever overcome it. He had argued that she would refuse to see him, that someone, anyone, would have a better chance.
The Wheel, it appeared, had other plans.
