“When Daniel thought about it, he knew Max had probably had one (or more) talks with Christian before coming to him. He knew Max had probably seen past his attempts at keeping his worries to himself. But he couldn’t find it in him to be upset over it at all.
Max’s proposition was like a breath of fresh air when he had been drowning in his mind in such a long time. It was everything he wanted, and he couldn’t refuse it. All he could do is thank his lucky star that he had Max back in his life. The Dutch had changed it all for the better, and Daniel couldn’t see himself without the younger man by his side.”

Max grows up very differently than most kids and he only he has two friends, who he truly trusts, Mick Schumacher and Charles Leclerc. That is until Max meets Daniel. Daniel has always been there for Max, as a teammate, as a best friend and as a lover. Guiding him and teaching him and helping understand that what he feels is not wrong or disgusting or fucked up, but in fact normal and healthy. With Daniel, Max is safe and can completely be himself. A relationship like that takes time, it only works if they are both willing to give it everything they have, and they do eventually.
