Summary
There's an all-glass cage in the center of the basement, practically a bubble held up above an intricate runic circle on the floor by an iron frame and thick chains. But that's not what really got Harry's attention, oh no.
There is a man inside the glass globe, sitting naked and motionless in the center with his legs hugged to his chest, and the only thing Harry can see of him other than pale white skin is the bush of black hair almost as or more messed up than his own.
Going to the cage is like being pulled by a magnet, and Harry's hand moves almost by itself to press against the glass.
The man looks up, locking eyes with Harry, and slowly unrolls to his feet, all the while looking Harry in the eyes with irises as black as the space between the stars with a single tiny point of light in the pupil. And then... And then he reaches out, placing his own palm flush with Harry's against the glass, and presses back.

For eighty-one years, Morpheus rotted in a glass cage in Roderick Burgess's basement, with no hope of escape now that Jessamy was dead.
At least not until his big sister's favorite accidentally finds him.

when death reminded dream of his missed meeting with an old friend, instead of going and meeting with him, he pussies out and finds a new girl crush, this girl crush breaks his heart and he goes on a fucking self loathing episode (so it's raining for months) where he realizes he has no friends other than his realm inhabitants and family.. what a loser.

The pigeon is lying just centimetres away from a puddle that looks so deep that Dream could almost drown in it if she isn’t careful. The neck is bent at an unnatural angle and the gash from where the car had struck it still seeps steadily into the wet tarmac. The dark blood blends with the grey of the sky, or the pavement, until it’s impossible to tell if it’s blood or filthy water that Dream is crouched in.
“Oh, that poor bird!”
