Summary
As if Solstice dinners weren't awkward enough to begin with, this is the first year Hades is bringing his partners home to his parents. They've met before, of course - many times in fact, given that his lovers are his best friends and have been since they were all children. But he never expected his parents to behave so poorly to them now that he has finally managed to take the next step and decide to spend the rest of his life with his best friends, formally. Luckily, it will take a lot more than rude parents to keep Hythlodaeus and Azem away.

Summary
Once each year, every soul on the star is given the day off work to prepare a grand feast, then go to the edges of their home city and expel almost all their aether; then return home and feast to replenish that aether. This is the holiday known as Ananeóno.
Hythlodaeus may be Chief of the Bureau of the Architect - hardly a position to turn one's nose up at - but he has always dreaded Ananeóno. This is because the holiday is fraught with opportunities for uncharitable commentary of all flavors: too little aether, too much aether, simply haven't seen your family in a while and overdue for this year's lecture about how your parents wish you had taken another job or found a partner by now? Ananeóno is the holiday for those unpleasant conversations. Which is precisely why the three of them - Azem, Emet-Selch, and Hythlodaeus - always celebrate this holiday together.

To be bound up in Lahabrea's chains, held in place and forced to submit while Lahabrea had his way with him... Eros can't help but fantasize every time he sees the man - which, given how closely they work together, is none-too-rare an occurrence. Unfortunately for Emet-Selch, the soul bond that stretches between him and Eros means he's forced to feel his beloved's lust right along with him - and if he has to sit through one more Council meeting with his dick stiff in his lap, he's going to lose his mind.
It's with his blessing (and his encouragement) that Eros sets off to find Lahabrea and beg him to chain him up and stuff him full until he's aching and sated. With luck, that will finally cure him of his lust - and let Emet-Selch finally get some work done. (Unless, of course, his encounter with Lahabrea just leaves Eros wanting more...)

It should go without saying that there will certainly be Endwalker spoilers in this. So if you haven't finished that expansion (or at the very least haven't finished the 86-87 zone) then you probably shouldn't read this until you've done so :)

“Are you certain these are appropriate?” he asked, a mug of that pumpkin-chocolate drink in hand.
He was referring to the line of gourd carvings that perched atop their mantle. Abystomas featured, as well as a few more sufficiently toothy animals he’d chosen carefully from the concept archive.
“Of course they are! Why, I’d bargain that any of these creatures could chase away the evil shades of ne’er-do-wells if given the opportunity.”
Hades heaved a shallow sigh, running a hand back through his hair. His anxious eyes sought out Hythlodaeus’s.
“Fret not, my dearest,” he encouraged, taking Hades’ free hand. “She will like it, I’m certain.”
“She has been gone far too long,” Hades remarked bitterly into his cup. “It does naught but bring me unease.”
Knowing their partner's affections for the All-Hallow's Eve celebrations of a far-off settlement, Hades and Hythlodaeus plan a small house party themed around the festival for the eve of her return. When Azem arrives home exhausted and despairing, they take time to comfort her instead.

Hades found himself admiring her form and poise, the cascade of loose golden locks, like a river made of sunlight.
Blinking in surprise, as more of the troupe joined her on stage, he realized he knew her. A quick shift to focus on his soulsight confirmed his realization.
That was Azem.
When Hythlodaeus cancels their evening plans to see a dance performance due to work obligations, Emet-Selch chooses to attend anyway. He is surprised to see none other than Azem on stage, entrancing all in the audience - and most especially him.
