Hesitant. That’s how they felt as they walked down the path to Walter’s home, uncertain in their movements and uncomfortably tense. Bloodhound was not used to one on one social interaction outside of battle. However, something about this occasion, about Walter, told them it was alright to open up their secluded little bubble.

“You doin’ a’right pup,” Walter asks as he comes up behind Bloodhound as they are about to attach their mask to the oxygen hidden beneath their jacket. “Been a bit quiet all day.”
His arms snake around their waist and chin rests on their shoulder. Bloodhound makes eye contact with their partner in the mirror and leans their head into the side of Walter’s. Their auburn hair conceals the permanent eyepatch on his face. He is so beautiful, Bloodhound can’t even fathom how a man like Walter can be so captivating.

Bloodhound often suffered dreams, night terrors of events that truly shaped them. A beast ripping through their village, claiming lives before their eyes as blood and bone flew into the snow staining it crimson. Sounds ripped from throats that they had never heard before, hearing lives end mingled between the roars and snarls of a Goliath. A body laying before a caged óséður, lifeless and cold as he was held in their shaking arms wracked with sobs and screams. The crowd littered with bodies, those who wished to observe the beast becoming its prey.
“Boone visited me again,” they said in a whisper, lip stiffening as they tried to hold their composure.

Suddenly, every hair on your body raises, alarm bells ringing in your mind. Your nostrils flare as you breathe more quickly, eyes darting from side to side. Something slides around your neck, rough fabric, a forearm pressed to your throat. You immediately reach up, fingernails scraping the canvas-covered arm that’s squeezing you, but there’s no way to break free from the vice-like grip.
“Caught you, little prey,” Bloodhound’s voice rasps behind you.
All you can do is make a tiny, choked squeak. You step back to try and find some relief, but you press up against their tall form, their body a solid wall of muscle behind you. You let your arm drop to the side and tap their thigh, a silent plea for release.
“Giving up so soon?” they tease. “You did not present me with a challenge today. Perhaps you…wished to be found?”
