Summary
“Can you read me a story?” Sapnap blurts out. George hesitantly stares at him, and Sapnap immediately regrets asking.
George stares at him blankly, and all the doubts just come rushing back. When Sapnap just thinks it’s okay, and he’s okay the thoughts come back, violently taking over every thought he can think. He tries to shake them off, but they desperately cling and feed off of his insecurity.
“It’s fine if not- I’ll just go-” He rambles, starting to rise to his feet when George pulls him back down to the comfort of the couch.
“I’ll read you a story” George reassures, smiling once again. Sapnap, for the first time that night, has a genuine smile on his face. Maybe it’ll be okay.
Sapnap is ruined because of the abandonment of his fiances and his best friend, so he confides in the only source of comfort he has left. George.
