Summary
Player has an unknown urge to help Painter escape after overhearing a grungy voice promise him they'll escape someday over a walkie-talkie. Reluctant at first with Player's terrible method, Painter realises he means no harm as they experience the horrors of Blacksite together. Someone isn't too happy about that, believing Player's destroyed his closest friend.
or, an alternate of the 'rescue' ending where Player actually takes Painter to escape with him. Sebastian believes Player's dismantled him, hunting him down. Though, he comes to a realisation of Player's intent. With some convincing from Painter, he joins them to escape.

I was scrolling through my trusty dusty Tumblr when I saw a post asking if anyone has or is willing to make a fanfic about that would happen if an expendable went to go retrieve the crystal, got there but someone had already took it. This is mostly for fun and a fun thought to have. This is just my own take on the idea and good practice for a beginner writer. Please do know that I struggle with run on sentences, putting periods and commas in the right places and mispelling due to dyslexia but this is better than soulless ai so there's that lol.
