Summary
Jill's letters have always made long separations from her bearable, even before Clive became her lover. Now, anticipating a long absence for the first time in months, Jill gives Clive a packet of letters--a veritable treasure trove--to take with him on his journey, with only a few words of guidance: read one, in order, every day until they are gone. Preferably alone.
