He didn't know what was so special about today of all days, if anything it was just another day of life, nothing special popped into his head. Though, the more he thought about it while walking through the halls, the more he realized he tended to forget things in the winter.
It was just another normal day, it was just a nice surprise, nothing more. It was nothing more than a gift, a nice gesture from his wife, it had to be.

"Yeah, but he's said that like six times in the past year," Scanlan pointed out.
"Last time he came back all scratched up and covered in bites," Vex agreed.

”Hey Scanlan, what’s, um, like, the limits of this spell, because theoretically could you just be like ‘oh I just wish for him back’ and then like, end of day, end of show?” A nervous laugh followed the statement.
They all knew that he could cast Wish, they’d seen it in the Feywild that day before they went to fight a God, but none of them fully understood the extent of the spell. Neither did he, to be fair, but he knew what she was asking, and just as well, that it was most likely beyond his skill.In The Search for Grog, Keyleth asks Scanlan a question and it's glossed over in a very Scanlan way. When it’s all said and done, he goes to give her a proper answer.

Death is everywhere, after all, everyone dies eventually. But this is different. Vax didn't just die, no, his life was cut short because of Percy's fucking mistake. Percy won't accept that. He can't. He knows he is tempting fate, that he is picking a fight he might never win, but he is willing to try anyway. After all he have all the time in the world now.

I'm screaming cause I want Vax to be alive again and everyone to not be crying forever so um here I am in a new fandom trying to understand its lore enough to bring a fucking character back to life.
