"Eyes as brown as cow shit, and socks higher than his grades is what I'll tell. Eddie Kaspbrak, Light of my life through heaven and hell."
Richie made a half-assed bow and Eddie just raised his eyebrows at him, "Thanks for noticing my eyes look like cow shit, asshole."

Summary
The summer of It is over and Eddie and the rest of the losers are back at school, trying to enjoy the last few days of nice weather before it gets colder. Things have mostly gone back to normal, and after defeating a demonic clown, Eddie is feeling pretty good about himself, having discovered he's not as much of a scardey-cat as he's been told all his life. However, as his and Richie's relationship starts to go from friendly teasing to maybe-possibly-flirting, there's one more discovery Eddie will make before the end of September...

"Nope, just me," he said with a shrug, blushing adorably as Maggie tisked and pulled an extra wool knit hat out of her purse to plop onto Eddie's windswept hair. A matching pair of mittens and an extra travel mug of hot chocolate came next, and Eddie juggled the mug to slip on the mittens over his shivery hands. "Ma didn't want to deal with the cold, or the crowd."
"Don't blame her for that," Went drawled, grinning as Maggie whacked him lightly in the shoulder.

Richie, of course, did not realise what was happening to him until the full moon. Sure, he knew something was going on, and that it was weird and if he thought about it for too long, scary, but he had ignored it. Richie had gotten good at pushing back things he didn’t want to acknowledge that summer, and his friends were an endless source of distractions. It was easy not to notice until he had no choice.
At least, he figured, he had realised before he did something noticeable, say like, if he had hulked out in the middle of town, howled at the moon and ran through the streets. Richie didn’t think even he could explain himself out of that one.

Richie launches himself at Stan and the two of them almost go down in a tangle of limbs. “What do you think the odds are that we’ll make it to opening night in one piece?” Bev asks Eddie, conversationally.
“Less than zero,” Eddie says, and he pushes Richie through the door so they can all get in the goddamn theater.
