He briefly wonders what has woken him up so late and blinks several times before something in the room catches his attention. A squeak escapes his throat when he registers the blurry outline of a person near the window. He jumps upright bumping into the headboard.
“Sorry,” A whisper cuts the night’s silence.
Richie narrows his eyes.
“Eddie?” He replies hoarsely, shaking off the remains of sleep. Now when he has adjusted to the dark, he can see it is Eddie. Eddie in nothing but a t-shirt and sleeping shorts. “It’s fucking freezing outside, Eds, what are you doing?!” He whisper-shouts, pulling the boy onto the bed.

Bob’s parents had apparently kept their old house on the market for months, and only when they signed the papers did Will realize what that meant. The move hadn’t been a spontaneous decision born of panic or fear. It had been planned for a while, and Starcourt was just the final nail in the coffin. It made everything feel more final, indisputable. Like a tidal wave that’s been building and building and he only noticed it once it had already crashed down, tumbling him over loose sand and drowning him in the waves. He hadn’t known much about the town they were headed to when he’d first heard of it. And by much, he meant nothing at all.

Woah, a Stranger Things x It crossover fic? Who could've come up with such an idea? Jokes aside, this is a fic that attempts to cross over both series in a seamless, logical way. Set after Stranger Things season 3, we follow the Byers after they move from Hawkins, Indiana to the small town of Derry, Maine. This fic is less relationship-focuses and more focused on Will as he adjusts to his new environment, and meets the losers for the first time.

The word leaves his lips with a not small dose of relief. He hooks a finger under the sheet that covers it and, keeping as far away from it as possible, he lifts it up and away.
There's a boy underneath. Well, it's a doll, Richie wasn't wrong about that, but it looks like a boy, roughly Richie's age. The Uncanny Valley effect is difficult to ignore: the face of the doll is alarmingly realistic, and so are the brown locks of its hair and the proportions of the body. He keeps waiting for it to blink its eyes open.Richie waits. It doesn't blink.
Until one day, it does.
(Or: Richie is lonely, Eddie is an automaton rotting away in Neibolt House, and the Turtle decides to play matchmaker in a very unorthodox way.)

Eddie's noise wrinkles adorably. In the three inches of space between their mouths he says, "You taste like your teeth are gonna rot by thirty," and Richie laughs in helpless wonder and unbridled affection at the boy in his lap, and makes a kissy face around, "You say the sweetest things," but it doesn't escape him that it only takes Eddie a couple of seconds to dive back down for another.

Bathed as he is in the soft glow of the Christmas tree, the effect is quite handsome even despite the novelty reindeer antlers that Richie has been wearing all evening. The combination of all the wine, Richie’s appealingly broad shoulders, and the looming threat of mistletoe has some distant corner of Eddie’s mind screaming a muted warning, Danger, Will Robinson!
Eddie ignores it and gets another drink.

Richie's standing in front of Eddie before he can really think it through, gripping the overhead rail for lack of a nearby seat. Eddie doesn’t look up, too consumed by something on his BlackBerry to notice the gangly buffoon swaying towards him with an open mouth.
Richie doesn’t know what he’s going to say until he’s saying it, words tripping out of his mouth like, “Eddie Kaspbrak, right?"
Eddie squints up at him, mouth pinched, before he says, “Edward. Only my friends call me Eddie. Do I know you?”
“Yeah, uh,” Richie clears his throat. Fuck. “Well, sort of? We went to school together.”
“I think I would remember that.”
Or, Richie's thirty-four when he's dragged back to Derry to visit his shitty grandmother, returns to New York, and starts making mistakes.
Or, Richie's on SNL, Eddie's on the subway, and Eddie isn't someone Richie wants to forget.

Summary
“Now, how many of you know what consent is? Raise your hand if you know.”
Very few students raised their hands, but Richie was mildly startled to see Eddie, Ben, Stan and Bill raise their hands. It almost made him raise his own just to fit in with the group, but he was so surprised that he felt frozen.
Eddie was giving him a look, as if silently asking if he was trying to be funny, which just made Richie feel even more lost.
OR: Richie realizes guys can be assaulted by girls, and remembers something terrible that happened to him a year prior. Thankfully, he has friends to help him through it (especially a certain redhead who has no problem punching said-girl in the nose)
