After the events of Scream 6, it's early December when Sam gets a call from her mother- Ms. Carpenter, inviting Sam and Tara to come back and stay with her for Christmas. The girls are reluctant but since the Meeks-Martin twins are headed back to Woodsboro for Christmas too, they convince Tara and Sam to visit home with them. Tara is especially hesistent to return, overcome with an overwhelming dread that she will uncover the answers of why her ex-girlfriend committed the infamous Woodsboro Massacre. Not only does Tara find the answers, but they come looking for her.
