It’s moments like these that are just theirs. Phil is able to soak up all of the love for himself, and also give unconditional love for Dan in return. No one could make Phil feel the way Dan makes him feel. They never share these moments with anyone, not even their closest friends. They like to treasure what is rightfully theirs and only theirs.
The moment is a bit overly sentimental for being two Halloween costumes from a sponsorship. It’s silly and stupid, but neither of them mind. They’re used to being stupid together.

The lobby-like space seems even bigger now. Two entrances, one from where Dan came over and the other next to the ventilation shaft, leading around a corner.
He is still deciding where to go as a movement from the hallway across the room catches his eye.
For a moment relief rushes through him, makes his knees weak, as he spots Phil’s blonde hair rounding the far corner. But the happy feeling turns into terror, freezing his blood, seizing his heart in painful speed, as he realizes that this can’t be Phil.
Phil doesn’t run like that. He doesn’t lean forward, sprinting with an angled head.
Phil also doesn’t grin like that.
Without a second though Dan breaks into a sprint, almost slipping on a damp stain on the carpet and taking the corner without a look back.

One misstep and Dan and Phil find themselves in The Backrooms. Upon a stupid fight they get seperated, and Dan really isn't sure how he's supposed to find his way back to Phil. -
