In the crater, he'd seen it all. Dangerous predators, Hostile plants, Deadly bacteria, and An ancient alien civilisation that crumbled long before he arrived. But there's only so much one can do in a 5-kilometre crater that is surrounded by an empty barren ocean, with only so many resources to use.
Going home is not an option, there is only one last option, an unused warp gate deep in the Volcano zone. There's no telling where it leads or if it's safe, but it's better than staying here.
The Nektons are in for a big surprise when they find someone who hates and fears the ocean just as much as they love it.

Kaiko isn't a condoner of murder, but at this point Hammerhead has it coming. Fontaine's just happy that Finn is okay. Ant is suspicious, but he's warming up to the idea of pirates on the Arronax. Maddy just wants to go home. And Will doesn't know how to parent a traumatized and distressed teenager who hides his feelings through humor.
