Summary
“You're from another world,” he whispers into his wrist. Dale's fingers play with his chin, outline his moustache with their fingertips, brush his lips like they're something precious.
“You've turned my world upside down.”
“Is that an accusation?”
“It's how I feel,” Dale murmurs toward his collarbones glistening with sweat and rain and chlorine curled in his arms.

Summary
...
Post season 3. Helendale. It should be easy, slipping back into this, into one another. And in some ways, it is. But love isn’t just a feeling, it’s something you do. And neither of them has ever done it quite like this before.
...
“Her limbs are still heavy, but she wraps herself around him, and Dale sinks into her hold, his arms pulling her close. She buries her nose in his shirt, tethered by his fingers in her hair, and his scent in her lungs.
She is home in his arms, always was, from the very beginning. She lost sight of that when her fears took over; lost sight of him.
They cling to each other like people who have lost one another—with relief, and a hint of regret.”

Summary
He’s been back for holidays over the last five years — occasionally; as if he can’t stand the heat of an Australian Christmas, the heat of attention and flashing cameras — darting in and out of Helen’s life, like their now-dead goldfish used to, but never staying long.
Or; Dale returns to Melbourne five years later, but this time he's here to stay. Their relationship, naturally, shifts again.

The moonlight glints between Tim's teeth when he smiles, revealing the tips of his incisors. He always smiles, even when his eyes are not. The conversation slows down in the cold atmosphere, even though Dale's body is burning inside.
He should go home, but just as that thought is brewing, the kiss arrives like a comet.

Summary
“I don’t imagine you want to talk about last night?” Tim asked.
“Not particularly. Not yet at least.” All morning Dale had felt sort of wrung out.
Tim nodded. He chewed his lower lip for a moment. “Can I just say one thing?”
“If you really want to.”
“I don’t hate the real you.” Dale stared at Tim, taken aback. “It was something you said last night, on air,” Tim explained. “And just for the record, it’s not true. I like the real you a lot.”End of S3 Ep6/ post Ep6 fix it. In my heart these two were always end game.

Summary
AU after episode 3x03.
"As Dale is about to ask about Lee, Tim says, 'I got your message.'
'My message?'
'The one you left on my answering machine.'
Warm relief is instantly displaced by icy dread. 'Of course,' he says, like he has any idea what Tim is talking about. 'That message.' Dale squeezes his eyes shut, as if that can make whatever this is go away.
'It was kind of you.' That’s good. He didn’t say something irredeemably stupid, then? 'I thought about you, too,' Tim goes on. 'When I was out there.' Dale’s face heats up, the whiplash of emotion causing his stomach to flip anxiously. 'I know you would have loved to be on the ground like that, but I was happy you weren’t.' More silence. Dale has to fill it this time, it’s his turn. He can’t think of a single thing to say. Eventually, Tim takes up the mantle again and says, 'I hear you’re dating Geoff Walters’s daughter.'
'No. Yeah. I…' Dale takes a deep breath. 'It’s complicated.'"
“Always is with you, mate.”

Summary
"But we're both men," Dale said, which he realised later was probably not the ideal immediate response.
Tim scratched at his cheek, looked down at his plate. "Yeah, pretty clear on that part."
"But—a baby." Dale stared at him. "With me?"
