Trinity wasn’t wrong, either, evidence of her overheated state in her now exposed shoulders, sweater in a heap on the floor. Her cheeks were flushed and the slightest hint of perspiration dotted her forehead. From the heat, she asserted earlier. Neo wasn’t so sure about that, firmly believing that it was from the alcohol, but he didn’t argue.

He had agreed to get out of his apartment for once to attend a Christmas Eve party. His friend Jude said it would do him good to meet some people. But making small talk at the party was as awful as always, and soon he was climbing onto the fire escape just to get away.
And then he met Tiff. And now they were on the roof. Wherever he went next, he wanted it to be with her.
