Tom can’t get enough of Tiff. He’d noticed her in the coffee shop long before they’d shared a table and a long conversation and thought, foolishly, that if they ever spoke maybe it would dispel the draw he feels towards her. Instead he had wandered back to work after their conversation in a daze, feeling like his rib cage had been pried open with all of his missing pieces exposed for anyone to see. He knows it is crazy to feel this way, but now that he knows what it feels like to talk with her, to connect with her, everything else around him is lesser in comparison, like the world itself is muted when Tiff isn’t there.
But she’s here now. Sitting across from him and smiling and the way she looks at him sometimes… he can’t help but wonder if she feels something similar.
