It’s been a few days since The Favorite Character Awards.
Pomni has been through a number of bizarre things during her time in the circus. Candy truck chases, angel head horrors, minimum wage labor, athletic events, gun-filled battle royales. But none of these come close to what she witnesses on a seemingly innocent day full of beach-filled fun: Caine attempting to take his own life.
After managing to stop him, Pomni takes it upon herself (and is borderline forced to by Bubble) to help keep Caine’s mental state intact by engaging in improvised therapy sessions with him. After all, if Caine died, what would happen to the circus? And to the humans that lived within it? This was her only concern at first. But as Caine opens up to her more through these sessions, she realizes just how much the AI is hurting and how long he has been harboring these negative emotions.
Turns out Caine needs more help than she thought.
He's just as trapped in this game as they are. And worse.

Pomni closed the bedroom door behind her, the darkness enveloping her like a thick blanket. The dim glow of a small red nightlight flickered in her hands, barely illuminating the room. She could hear her heart pounding in her chest, each rapid beat echoing her fear. She needed to calm down, but how could she? All of the circus members - her friends - were looking at her with wide, pleading eyes, their desperation hanging heavy in the air.
Breaking the suffocating silence, Ragatha reached out with her ragdoll arms, gently brushing against Pomni's trembling hands. “It’s okay,” she whispered, her voice soft yet anguished. Pomni flinched at the sudden contact but didn't back away. "It's just that..." Ragatha's gaze shifted, searching for the right words. “You’re our only hope.”
An AU where Caine tinkers with the circus members' minds, just like he did with Kinger's all those years ago. And we all know how that turned out.

After a couple months, a new character enters the circus. A new doll. Who seems to immediately bond with Ragatha.
Jax doesn't like him. But why? It can't be feelings for Ragatha. Unless those feelings are hate.
Ragatha does like him... Except for this nagging feeling that she knows him. Somehow.
This new doll is going to teach them all about how they really feel, and maybe how their human counterparts feel too.

But when they find him he's not quite the same.
Forgiveness isn't an given. It's earned. And along the way the humans start to realize that perhaps there are some things they need to earn forgiveness for too.
