When Alpha werewolf Jensen loses his pack in a fight to his half-brother challenger he must swallow his pride and request clemency for his life to be spared. He ends up recovering at the Hospital for the Peculiar and Unusual, an instituion dedicated to healing supernatural creatures. There he will meet Jared, a vampire whose intellect and humor align fabulously with his own but blood oaths keep him binded to the very things that hurt him. Can Jensen find a way to become stronger than those binds, despite his own weakness and uncertain future?

Jared is in the midst of his vacation when his best friend Chad suggests that they go out for a quick bite to eat. Along the way to their destination, Jared is distracted by a delicious scent that drives him wild. He meets Jensen, who is attempting to drink away his sorrows after being dumped by some worthless mortal, and Jared decides to make an offering to Jensen. What follows leaves Jensen horrified but still captivated by the incredible man who seems to be so interested in him.
As the two star-crossed lovers are drawn closer together by the power of the blood moon that burns bright in the night sky, they begin an incredible journey that will leave an empire shaken, and a world trembling before their combined powers.
