The past and future so often coalesce into the gift we know as the present. Oftentimes those whore are stuck in one cannot experience the joys the here and now has to give.
Du Ruo remembers Sunsink City with fondness. Her beloved home was always filled with the bustle of people with their own lives to live. In the middle of it all a Seer and a Scholar found their tiny slice of peace in the hidden corners of a temple that allowed for stolen kisses and more intimate exchanges. Her days were far from perfect surrounded as she was by charlatans and incompetents, but they were happy ones nonetheless.
Du Ruo wasn't in Sunsink City. She was out on the battlefield defending DisSea and the world from the monster that once escaped her grasp. This time the Sun Crow made no attempt to flee, instead seeking out the woman powerful enough to trap it in a binding ritual. When one Seer wasn't enough to satisfy its lust for power it began looking for more. Inevitably, its pointed gaze landed on the vulnerable husk of a Seer who had lost her love and now stood to lose so much more.
