Summary
Arthur was gone. Or sleeping, or some such. His planets went on without him; he had appointed his trainee, the proud and noble Ariadne, in his place. This had been spoken of for a long time, the heralding of a newcomer at the helm of an army; but this was also Eames, and Arthur, and nights spent lying under the moon.
The prophecies called it thus: one of us shall fall, and the next, dive.

Summary
Arthur was self-sufficient. Self-reliant. Proudly independent. He always knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted it. Arthur’s life was… orderly. He had a career he worked hard for – he was a Michelin-star Chef in one of the most popular restaurants in the city, and he absolutely didn’t need a Sous-Chef in his perfectly run kitchen. He had best friends he didn’t have to see very often – Dom and Mal knew he was a busy man and never made a fuss about him bailing on their plans at the last minute. He didn’t have a significant other – but that was for the better. He would hate someone messing up his flat and taking up his time, and it wasn’t like he couldn’t get one if he wanted to, thank you very much.
Arthur’s orderly life ended with an untimely phone call from a hospital. His whole world fell apart after that because how could he deal with his friends being dead, with suddenly becoming a parent, and with his manager insisting he couldn’t handle his kitchen – the only place where he still truly felt in control – on his own?

Summary
During the week the team is stuck in Level 1 of the dream, Eames manages to slip away from Fischer and find a moment with Arthur.
Written for Day 17 of Inception 30 Day Challenge on Tumblr, "How did the team spend the rest of the week on the first dream level?" ...Except it's mostly Arthur and Eames. Oops.

Summary
What possibly offends Arthur the most is that, not only is someone trying to set him up as a murderer, they honestly seem to think he’d be so predictable about it.
Clearly, whoever is exacting this vendetta against him has spent too much time listening to Eames talk about how unimaginative he is.

Summary
“Let me be perfectly clear, darling,” Eames rolls onto one side, props himself up on one forearm, “I would absolutely never underestimate you. I find you — well, if we’re being honest I’m not entirely sure there’s a word for how I find you.”
“Intimidating is what I’m aiming for,” Arthur offers helpfully, “Terrifying. Menacing. I’d settle for unnerving.”
He takes another drag from the cigarette, and Eames can’t help but stare at the movements of his mouth.
“Well,” he says, finally, “I best not get on your bad side, then.”

Summary
(He almost misses Robert’s eyes on him — Cobb refuses to examine that thought.)
Cobb approaches the mark in the hotel bar, and the projections' eyes are glued to his back. It takes a bit for him to realize that it's not his role as the dreamer that's catching the attention of the man's subconscious.
Mostly canon compliant with slight canon divergence in some parts.
