She turned toward the spectacle, and found the same older elven couple they had since passed. The woman was standing now, hands so tightly wound in the fabric of her blouse that they’d turned stark white. The man was no calmer, fingers gripping his knees and eyes watching the young couple as though they were made of smoke.
