Summary
It hurt, the constant thrum and need to contain, to prevent it from overwhelming and consuming him. It would be so easy, to just let it overpower him the way he’d let Morro. Lloyd hated that part of him, terrified of the fire coursing through his system and willing to get anything to make it stop.
Even if it meant- those hands, twisting around Kai’s neck-
“Hey, green bean.” Lloyd flinched, turning around and feeling the whip of the wind against his cheek.
Kai had his hands in his pockets, staring at Lloyd with concern. Lloyd hadn’t even noticed him approach, what kind of ninja was he?
“Is everything okay?”
Lloyd nodded, the movement too sharp. Kai frowned, narrowing his eyes and gripping harder onto the bannister.
“I know you don’t want to talk about it. But please Lloyd, at least admits something’s wrong. None of us expects you to be okay after something like that. And kid, you’re allowed to not be okay.”
“I'm not really a kid anymore..”

Summary
A season I created that is set after the Sons of Garmadon arc.
Something is pulling Lloyd to the Dark Island. When he mysteriously and accidentally arrives at the Dark Island, he is shocked to meet groups of people who were still on the island when his grandfather submerged/froze it. People who had been unable to get off the island in time or were trapped there. They aren't overly fond of the first master, but some are willing to give Lloyd a chance. Separated from the Ninja with no way to contact them due to the lack of internet service, Lloyd has no choice but to walk back to Ninjago on foot. While on the island, Lloyd makes new friends, purifies corrupted elemental temples, and purges darkness that lingers from the overlord. He also discovers and begins hunting for the Dragon Masks, the Oni Masks' twin set which are hidden in the Dark Island. Meanwhile the ninja are freaking out trying to figure out where Lloyd went. They do find him eventually.
While Lloyd is the main focus here, the other ninja have plenty of stuff of their own that they do.

Modern highschool au:
Lloyd, A new freshman at Ninjago high was a shy kid, Nya noticed and was gonna leave him alone but he randomly came in the middle of the term which isn't usually allowed so he intrigued her. He was fidgety, he flinched at almost everything which concerned her but she couldn't press on the matter.
She soon became somewhat friends with the kid and introduced him to her friend group with her older brother in it.
Everything was going well until news of a serial killer escaping prison got out.

“Kai kept saying-” Lloyd’s voice cracked and he cleared his throat, “kept saying that this would be a chance to do something normal again.” Skylor didn’t say anything and Lloyd knew he had to keep going. There was no easy way out of this.
Damnit, Kai.
“I don’t think he really understands that there never was a normal,” he croaked. “There’s nothing for me to go back to.” He exhaled slowly, trying to keep control of his breathing.
Shogun stretched out a paw from his loafing position to rest gently on Lloyd’s chin and Lloyd was surprised to feel tears streaming down the sides of his face. “With- with her and then my dad, they were the closest things I ever had to normal.”
