    hi!! i'm super excited to start writing a stranger things group chat fic!! if i'm being honest i don't have a real great idea of the roadmap of this fic. i really just want this to be a feel-good, coming of age, group chat fic. it's going to be slowburn and flip between a couple different group chats. at this point in the story, will, el, jonathan, argyle, and joyce are still living in california, the binghams are in utah, and the rest of the squad is in hawkins (including hopper). it's not going to be completely off of the plot (el still has her powers, the upside-down still exists), but for the sake of the story, we're going to kinda just assume that the upside-down and all the creatures aren't bothering our kiddos, because god knows they've been traumatized enough. so yeah, that's that. hope you enjoy!

    He’s in the middle of tweeting about his little exchange with the cashier when he hears the tell-tail laughter of Eddie Kaspbrak somewhere off in the distance. He looks up from his phone and straight ahead across the shop he sees Eddie talking to someone.

    Which would be fine if it weren’t some fucking guy.

    The guy is definitely not Eddie’s type, but Richie still feels a not so pleasant fire burning in his chest and a sour taste in his mouth.

    Okay so maybe he’s a little jealous, and what about it? You can’t arrest him for that, go away.

    It's not that Eddie has been trying to lie, exactly. Given his mother's loose relationship with the truth, he's pretty sure lies of omission are not the same thing. It's just that things in his new office have been going really well, and Richie is being Richie about it, and this is maybe the most impulsive thing he's done since he was fifteen.

    And there is maybe a tiny, tiny part of him that worries none of his coworkers will ever take him seriously again if they know the whole truth, for several reasons.

    It's just, they may have a few risk-related concerns about him getting divorced ten months ago, moving in with Richie eight months ago, and having a clandestine courthouse wedding two months ago.
