Summary
Perhaps the strangest thing in his grandson’s war camp was Gwindor.
The former thrall of Angband, missing both a pinky and an eye, was the first thing anyone noticed when they approached the young High King. He stood at Gil-Galad’s right hand, the head of the king’s personal guard, a presence as steady as the steel at his hip. There was nothing ceremonial in the way he carried himself, no courtly bow, no polished armor. He looked like a man who had walked through fire and come out the other side knowing exactly how much of him the flames had taken.

Summary
“I, Aegon Targaryen the second of his name, write this to you, my kin and forebears, to swear these solemn words. With a heavy heart, I vow to forsake the name, honor, and legacy of our great house. I renounce the bloodline that courses through my veins and the privileges that come with it. No longer shall I bear the name that has been bestowed upon me by birthright. I sever the ties that bind me to this ancestral abode, relinquishing my claim to its halls and lands."

Summary
Círdan was tired. He had been tired, for a very long time, certainly since the Sudden Flame and the fall of the Falas and likely as far back as when the Sons of Fëanor first arrived on the shores of Arda.
“You took two children from the mouths of the sea,” he said calmly, “One was a girl. Now you bring me two boys.”
“Elrond wears blue, Elros wears red,” replied Maglor. “Except when they’re being difficult.”
That answered exactly none of the questions Círdan was currently forming.
