The boy unknowingly awakens a dormant creature nearby, a creature with many tentacles for limbs. Picking up Jacob's scent nearby, it snags the boy, dragging it toward its den, a natural cave near the source of water.
It's been a long time since the creature has had a new mate, and Jacob is the perfect specimen for a ripe breeding.
