No one knew who the third Robin was, not even Batman. Why is it, then, that the Waynes so interested in Timothy Drake? And why now, of all times?
OR: The Batfamily have been trying to lure Agent C back into the family ever since he ran away. It's a slow-going process. In the meantime, Damian has latched onto Timothy Drake, and is teaming up with Dick to try and adopt him. Whether he wants to be adopted or not.

Except, apparently, there's something more sinister going on beneath DI's shiny veneer. And now Tim's fighting for his life literally, not just metaphorically. Good thing the Bats are there to protect him. But why are these people so interested in his life? Seriously, don't they have better things to do? So long as Tim makes it out alive and the Bats never find out he knows their secret, everything will be fine. Too bad nothing ever goes right for Tim.OR
Tim Drake is a super badass CEO/detective/genius, but even the most resourceful of 16-year-olds needs some help when a crime lord wants them dead.

Summary
Duke braced himself, bringing his fists up in front of him and preparing to dodge or lose an eye.
The guy swung. The hit never landed.
A gunshot cracked the night wide open, and the guy who’d been about to slice up Duke’s face screamed, clutching at his hand. The sound was pure agony.
Blood sprayed, hot and wet, across Duke’s cheek and hoodie. Too close. Too real. His breath hitched hard, stomach lurching. Some hit his lip. The metallic tang of blood slid into his mouth before he could stop it. He gagged.
Then something fell out of the dark above. Leather flared. Boots struck pavement with a thud that carried finality. A helmet gleamed red under the flickering streetlight.

“Do I need to walk you up?” Jason asks, and doesn’t wait for an answer. “C’mon.”
He grabs Duke’s shoulder and starts to tug him toward the stairs. Duke shakes himself out of his confusion. “My report—”
“You’re starting to sound like Replacement,” Jason tells him, point-blank. “The report can wait till you get at least like, two hours of sleep. Give the meds and H2O a chance to kick in.”
And Duke should argue, because Tim’s been asking for two days, and Bruce is always stressing how important it is to keep a record of cases—you never know what detail you overlook in the moment could become crucial later on.
Except…his head hurts.
Or, Jason catches Duke hiding a headache and says, is anyone going to deal with that?
