Summary
Two years ago, Tim's life went to hell. But Mama saved JJ so he saved Mama by shooting Papa. It was hard, but the therapy helped and he could hide the physical scars well enough. It wasn't like his parents were ever around long enough to notice anything, they hadn't even realised he was kidnapped for months.
But now Robin, Jason Todd was dead, and Batman was going off the rails. He had to do something but what could he do? So he kept following the bat and helping those he could. People started talking about the Ghost who would help, it was better than them knowing who he was.
But Batman obviously needed a Robin, so who better to ask than the first? Nightwing had been nice enough and Dick Grayson had given him his first ever hug. He had to help.

As he turns the corner he begins to hear the sounds of screaming over the roar of the flames. He doesn’t see anyone at first, but then an arm sticks out through a basement window.
“Help! Please someone help us!” A voice cries out.
Tim rushes forwards, and finds a basement window metal bars installed over, blocking the escape of those trapped inside. The arm touches the metal and a shout of pain follows.
“Batman I’ve got victims trapped in a basement!” Tim reports, as he gets closer to the building. “There appears to be-”
His words cut off into a gasp as he looks into the window, at least a dozen women and children are in the basement.

His dad abruptly stood up and left the room, while his mother stared at her hands for a few, seemingly infinite moments and hunched her shoulders to her chin.
He had foolishly not realized the gravity of his mistake and the rare opportunity his question signified for their future.
His mother seemed to gather her bearings after a few moments but still glanced at him like he transformed into something horrifyingly unfamiliar.
Her lips weakly stretched into a sad mirage of a smile.
Something about the twist of her lips looked like the porcelain pieces of her facade were cracking.

The eldest of the two bird — a boy named Tim — had patch himself in a haste and flurry of emotions before bolting his way up to the manor first without waiting for the Butler to arrive and tend to them and leaving the youngest — Damian — down in the cave with a bitter frost feeling that acts as a blanket to the little one's heart.
Alfred had tend to Damian's injuries without voicing a question to him, but Damian could feel it. The silent gaze from the butler and slight wrinkle on his face; a silent curiosity as to what had occurred between Damian and Tim.

Tim loved Danny. So, so much. But after an averted apocalypse put a strain on their relationship, he needed space to work on himself. After months of separation and countless therapy sessions, Tim finally built up enough courage to accept Danny's invitation, visiting him in Boston to see if they could try again.
This is a soft fic about reconnection and moving forward after a split. It's kinda sad, but does get happy! I promise!
