Summary
A fan-work set in the "Assignment Risk" universe by alephkeller
Lightyears away from Earth, on a station orbiting an alien world, the Vanguard Forces of the Daxy Empire are preparing for the induction of a new species. A young man who's up for Assignment finds himself brought aboard the station when he's dragged along with his Counselor. A young guard serving on the station finds herself questioning her identity. A prisoner aboard the station finds themselves fearing for their species' future.
When an act of sabotage leaves the station cut off from the rest of the Empire, these three individuals fall into a web of conspiracy, conflicting loyalties, doubt, and rebellion. When unseen forces finally make their move, what choices will have to be made?

Summary
When people die, they leave things behind. Sometimes those things aren't what you expected. Sometimes you wind up wondering how well you ever really knew them.
Just when Mae and her friends are finally recovering from their night in the woods, a note from Casey starts to stir up old ghosts. As Mae struggles to deal with all of the things Casey left behind, she finds herself learning things she never knew about her old friend. Some of them might be pretty weird. Some of them might be dangerous. Some of them might be buried out in the woods somewhere.
Things will probably be fine, though. Maybe.
