Jack was drawing in the sand today. I don't know the exact date; nobody does. My guess is that we've been here a little over two months. I watched as Jack drew, he was smiling slightly, which made me happy. He drew a simple pig and some stick men, and I drew a lizard. I really wish we can do this more often, it's nice with the breeze in my face and Jack by my side. Then he started crying, shoulders shaking and eyes red, tears dripping down his face. I did not wish for him to be upset, so I brought him to the clearing, perhaps it would cheer him up. Maybe if we laid together, side by side like we had that evening, until we both fell asleep, maybe we would be alright.
