Summary
Galinda’s hand traced further up her arm, she couldn’t help but watch her movements. Her fingers traced up over her shoulder, ghosting over her collarbone.
Elphaba’s breath hitched. No one had ever touched her so sweetly before. No one had touched her skin unless necessary.
Galinda’s eyes finally detached from her hand, looking to meet her gaze. Elphaba couldn’t read the expression there completely but it felt fond.
She let her hand continue, crawling up the side of her neck and coming to cup the side of her face. Just like she had down at The Ozdust just hours ago.
Somehow it felt infinitely more intimate. It wasn’t just to wipe away tears, Galinda wanted to hold her.

Summary
Elphaba couldn’t help but notice that her ever loquacious roommate had been uncharacteristically silent on their walk home from Madame Morrible’s seminar. Galinda regaled the friends and admirers who inevitably approached them with smiles of silk and sugar that faded into a pensive, slightly pinched expression as soon as they walked away.
Elphaba, for her part, was almost too preoccupied with discreetly watching her roommate to notice that people were greeting her too. That development was certainly going to take some getting used to.

Summary
A woman’s face appeared after a moment, at first curious, and then when the figure had lowered her hood, astonished - at which point Elphaba had the space of five seconds to wonder if she’d miscalculated grossly after all - if four years had truly changed so much.
And of course they had. She of all people was in more of a position than most to comment on just how much. But as the window latch turned hurriedly in Glinda’s fumbling hands which then reached out to pull her through and out of sight, Elphaba knew that at least this hadn’t.
