Summary
Ever since he was born Wei Ying has been able to see ghosts, but as he gets older he realizes the ghosts’ interference in his life is only getting stronger and affecting him more and more with each passing day. Now a college student, he's desperate to find a way to control his gift, but no one else can even see the spirits that follow him around let alone stop them.
His bad luck turns around when he stumbles onto a fellow student, Lan Zhan, whose family lives in a nearby temple and practices ancient cultivation techniques. Wei Ying discovers that whenever Lan Zhan is around the ghosts completely disappear. So maybe his family’s cultivation is the secret to a future without ghosts.
There’s just one problem: Lan Zhan despises him.

Summary
A gentle touch stroked his back, and Wei Ying stiffened in surprise. He looked up to find pale-gold eyes staring down at him intensely.
He gulped.
“Are you hurt?” The young cultivator asked in a soft voice, as if he expected an answer— even though he was already prodding Wei Ying’s ears and legs to see for himself. When he didn’t find evidence of injury he seemed to relax. “Are you frightened?”
If Wei Ying were human, he would have blushed and tried to crack a joke to hide it. As a rabbit, he could only kick his feet like a shy toddler.
“Wangji? I heard a commotion. Is everything alright?”
With the swiftness of a child being caught up past their bedtime, Wei Ying was shoved inside a billowing sleeve.
“Mn.”

This is a ‘The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish’ AU for Wangxian. That series captured my heart, so then this happened. For those who don’t know that story; you don’t have to read it to read this. I don’t follow the plot at all, and I even changed the premise a bit. It’s only loosely inspired by it.
Also just to be clear: Wei Ying is not a rabbit 100% of the time.

“Gah, Lan Zhan, It’s 7am! I just got off a red-eye flight! Can’t you have mercy on my sleepless eyes? You can’t just smile at me without any warning! Are you trying to kill me?” He covered his face with his hands, but his cheeks looked red from between his fingers. “I need coffee. Now. Immediately. Before I pass out and crack my head open on this floor.”
Lan Wangji wanted to laugh but forced it down. “Mn.” He produced his wallet from inside his jacket and then offered Wei Wuxian his card. “Go buy coffee. Give me your claim ticket. I’ll grab your things.”
Wei Wuxian froze and then peeked sideways at him, pouting. “You saw all this coming! My fiance is psychic now? Am I so predictable? Are you already getting bored of me?” He huffed. “You can’t give me back, Lan Zhan! Ten years is too long to wait before calling off an engagement. I’ve gotten my hopes up and everything!”

"I set up a Grindr profile last night and I've received many messages of people comparing me to a catfish. Now that I know what it means, I'm relieved I haven't started responding to the messages yet."
There's a marked silence coming from the other side of the room. The needle is frozen in midair, resting on Wei Ying's index finger as he stares dumbly back at Lan Zhan. It had been a while since he'd seen him speechless. Wei Ying has a tremendous poker face and rarely lets it drop, even in times of distress. Lan Zhan wonders if he's said something wrong.
"C-can you repeat that?"
Wei Ying also never stutters, so Lan Zhan obliges him quickly. Repeating himself does nothing to quell Wei Ying's confusion. In fact, it seems to grow.
"W-hy— why— why would you do that?"
After thirteen years of pining after a best friend that's shown absolutely no interest in him, Lan Zhan decides to create a profile on Grindr and get this whole virginity thing dealt with.
