He only needed the three - they gave him enough trouble! They already bugged him enough to hang out, already caused drama that he was dragged into, already teased him about his idiosyncrasies...
They already knew about his issues; spent years around his ever changing moods as he tried to be less angry, less scared, less obsessive. They already tried with mixed results to help him sleep, heal, and trust. He didn't need anyone else getting that close.
However, as he began to walk away, he couldn't help but believe that not taking Straw-hat's words seriously would be a mistake.

Summary
When Loki had decided to become the God of all Timelines by opening up the multiverse, the TVA had noticed an influx of identical variants. Miss Minutes confirmed they were all variants of He Who Remains or Kang The Conquerant, a powerful being who was preparing his variants for a multiversal war. The TVA agreed that this was outside of their jurisdiction, and that superheroes from all timelines needed to be warned about the impending war. B-15 and a couple of hunters were in charge of informing the Supreme Sorcerer and Doctor Strange, which resulted in this meeting.

Mobius is tasked to hold an Avengers meeting to provide all the information the TVA has about He Who Remains and his variants. He doesn't know that far far away, locked inside his magnificent Yggdrasil, the god of stories is trying to take part of this meeting too.

If you’d told the old Mobius, the one from that first day, that in a couple years he’d be parked on a jetski in the middle of Newark, praying to Loki, with an empty bottle of Advil tucked into the pocket of his shorts, he would’ve laughed you out of the time theater.
“I miss you,” he tells the water.
The waves sigh back at him.

Summary
Mobius's patience runs out, and in his eagerness to close the gap he mashes his nose and jaw into Loki's, making Loki wince. Mobius pulls back, cringing. "Sorry, sorry didn't do that right—" he mumbles, seeming ready to give up just from that, but Loki grabs his tie, tugs him closer again.
"Can…can we try again?" Loki whispers, trying and failing to sound normal about any of this, to act like someone who doesn't want this far more than they probably should.
Mobius inhales, seems to sense the shaky desperation in Loki's voice even as Loki does his best to smooth out the ripples. "—Okay."

Burdened by the knowledge of his birth being the cause of his mother’s death, tossed from his comfortable life of wealth after being caught with a man, and now currently living with his older sister made sex worker, are all just enough to distort Loki’s perception of the world.Mobius is just a lonely, 35-year-old widow running a company that he barely knows anything about, and one evening he sees a scared young person shivering in the cold.
And well, he did always have a knack for finding broken things.
