He expects many things from his death - peace, eternal nothingness, or maybe even an afterlife. He most certainly was not expecting to wake up in a world vastly different from his own, nor to be stuck in the astral realm as some shady Nazi organization takes his body to harness the energy for their weapons, and definitely not to get attached to their pet soldier.
Oh, but he's most of all shocked that he woke up as a girl.
