Taylor bounded into her hotel room, energy still buzzing from the show, and launched herself on the bed. Phone in her hand, she pulled up her Favorite Contacts that were filled with Mom, Dad, Austin, Tree, Betty, and clicked “FaceTime” for the latter.
The screen illuminated with her girlfriend’s face in a dimly lit room.
“Hey, baby! I’m sorry I’m late. Took a while getting out of the stadium tonight!” Taylor laughed, messing with her hair.
“Mmhmm.” Karlie rubbed her forehead, her expression, pinched.
